Mango Pomelo Sago Drink
The most refreshing summer drink that I could drink every day!
If a boba shop has mango pomelo sago on the menu, I’m ordering it without any hesitation. It’s one of those drinks I could happily sip on daily (and yes, I definitely have). The combo of juicy mango, tart pomelo, chewy sago, and a creamy base makes it the ultimate summer refreshment.
For the mango, I recommend grabbing the large frozen bags from Costco as they’re super affordable and perfectly sweet. While the traditional recipe uses full-fat coconut milk, I like swapping it for soy milk to keep things lighter and more protein-packed. Half a cup of soy milk adds 6 grams of protein while still giving the drink that creamy texture.
Orange juice isn’t typically part of the classic recipe, but I love the extra tropical kick it brings. This version only uses five ingredients, making it an easy and refreshing treat to whip up anytime. Give it a try!
Ingredients
1.5 cup of frozen mangoes (get the Costco ones if you can!)
2 tbsp of pomelo segments (yes you have to buy a whole pomelo and peel it)
0.5 cup of soy milk
0.5 cup of orange juice (unsweetened, trust me it’s sweet enough)
1/2 cup of sago pearls
Instructions
Cook the sago:
Bring a pot of water to a boil and add the sago pearls.
Cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
Turn off the heat, cover, and let the sago sit for another 10–15 minutes until the centers are no longer white.
Drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking. Set aside.
Prepare the mango base:
In a blender, add the frozen mango, soy milk, and orange juice (adjust based on preference).
Blend until smooth and creamy.
Assemble the drink:
In a serving glass or bowl, add a base of pomelo segments.
Top with a few spoonfuls of the cooked sago.
Pour the blended mango mixture over the sago.
Top with pomelo segments.
Serve:
Give everything a gentle stir and enjoy immediately!
